“I suffered 2 years with a painful bunion to which I could no longer bare to wear a shoe or even tolerate the bed sheet to touch my foot. The pain was unbearable and I could no longer put off the possible surgery.
I came to Dr. Deiboldt on the recommendation from a physical therapist and friend who said of all the foot injuries she treats, it was her opinion that Dr. Deiboldt did the best work and his patients tended to heal faster and have fewer complications than other doctors’ patients.
Dr. Deiboldt’s professional and kind mannerism eased my anxieties and after a thorough exam and x-rays, he confirmed that I was in need of a bunionectomy. He explained the procedure in easy to understand terms, answered my questions/concerns and assured me that if I followed his recovery instructions and was faithful to the PT schedule, I would be back in my high heels in 12 weeks.
I was scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later as an outpatient in his in-office surgical room. The morning of, I was nervous and worried about the unknown and the pain I might awake to, but Dr. Deiboldt assured me that all would be ok as he talked me through what to expect step-by-step.
In 45 minutes the procedure was completed and I was on my way home 30 minutes later.
I was on crutches for 2 weeks and in a walking boot for the 4 weeks. During this recovery time, I stayed faithful to 10 weeks of PT Dr. Deiboldt prescribed and at the end of week 12 after my surgery, I was back in my high heels again, pain free just as Dr. Deiboldt had said I would!
Overall, I experienced minimal pain, discomfort, swelling, bruising and/or scaring. and had I known the surgery was not as invasive as I had feared, I would have done it sooner and not suffered as long as I did.
Two years later, I am still bunion free and can wear my 4″ heels pain free.
Thank you Dr. D!!!”

“When I first came to Dr. Deibold, both of my feet were hurting so bad that I could hardly walk. It did not matter what type of shoes I was wearing or not wearing, they still hurt! This made it very difficult to do my job working with children.
I was taking an over the counter pain reliever on a daily basis every four hours (not good on the stomach). My daycare children were suffering along with my family because I couldn’t fulfill their needs completely. I was an unhappy and grouchy person which I did not like.
I have had many procedures. The first was to take out an ingrown nail, afterwards I was able to put weight on my foot and wear my shoes without the pain. I thought to myself, “Why didn’t I do this before”.
The second procedure Dr. Deiboldt did was fit me for orthotics and informed me of the correct type and brand of shoes I should be wearing on a daily basis. All during this time he was trying to rid my right foot of a neuroma. There are 3 possible options that can be used in trying to correct the problem.
One option I couldn’t even try since my insurance wouldn’t cover, the second option failed and I ended up having surgery. My left foot also has a neuroma that was corrected by using the second option. During every step of my treatment, Dr. Deiboldt explained my options and answered all of my questions.
I now have very happy feet! I can get up in the morning and not be in pain which lasts all day long. I no longer walk with a limp. The scar from the surgery is barely noticeable and I don’t have to take pain medicine every four hours.
I am a happier person and have even lost weight because I am more active. I have referred 5 people to Dr. Deiboldt that are also very happy with their treatment. We call him Dr. Happy Feet! I WILL continue to refer others!!”

“Dear Drs. Deiboldt:
Thank you for an opportunity to share my experience with you.
I was experiencing a great deal of pain on the bottom of my right foot that was made worse when I walked.
I first sought the advice of my primary care practitioner, but was referred to the Beltsville Foot & Ankle Center.
When I came to the practice, I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis.
To treat this condition, I was prescribed orthotic insoles for my shoes and was given a regimen of carefully inserted injections to reduce the inflammation in my foot. The shots were relatively painless and quick. And the effect was immediate relief.
Since that time, I have been without pain and comfortably using my orthotic insoles since.
I greatly appreciate this medical help.”
Sincerely,
Mark Brimhall
“With the type of job I do, I stand most of the day and work long hours. I also have a very physical job.
My feet started hurting so bad that I had to try to sit for most of the day and was also contemplating trying to find another job that would be easier on my feet and my back.
Four years ago, on my first appointment with Dr. Deibodlt, I received x-rays to look at the placement of my bones. From this, we could tell that I had no arch, which was causing my ankle pain, and a bunion, worst on my left.
Dr. Deibodlt spoke to me about the different options that I had and gave me the choice as to which way I wanted to go. Dr. Deibodlt does not “force” or push” anyone into surgery. He will try all other options before having to perform the surgery. We decided that I needed orthotics and a more supportive shoe to wear.
Since seeing Dr. Deiboldt my back and foot pain have gone away! And can perform all the duties that are required of me with my job! I still have to go back and get new orthotics made from time to time, since they wear down, but have avoided surgery thus far!”

“After suffering for several years with foot pain in both of my feet, I made an appt with Dr. David Deiboldt and was diagnosed with neuromas in both feet.
Initial treatments of wearing orthodic shoe inserts and having anti inflammation medication injected into the affected areas on my feet helped but I still had quite a bit of pain in my left foot, so I decided to have surgery and have the neuroma removed.
The surgery went as expected, and I did not have very much pain or swelling. I took two weeks off work to rest my foot but I could still move around the house on my own while I was recuperating.
That was nine years ago and my feet feel great.”

“Before I came to Dr. Deiboldt, I was suffering from very painful ingrown toenails. I was getting monthly pedicures, but each time, the problem increased.
I finally decided to have the ingrown toenails removed. Doctor Deiboldt had corrected this problem for my daughter, and she recommended that I contact him, which I did.
Before the procedure, I was terrified, but before Dr. Deiboldt started the procedure, he explained very clearly what he was going to do. He put me completely at ease and all my fears went away.
He was very gentle and at the same time, very professional. I was very confident that he was fixing a problem that had been a problem for a long time.
I was totally satisfied with the procedure and my recovery. I trust Dr. Deiboldt completely and see him every 8 weeks. Since I’ve been seeing him for my foot care, I no longer experience any type of foot pain”.

“Before I came to the Beltsville Foot and Ankle Center I had 2 hammertoes on my right foot and could not wear heels and even flats became painful.
Dr. Deiboldt took excellent care of me, he let me know what to expect and provided me with the boot and medications needed after my surgery.
Even his anestethiologist was excellent.
You can barely see the stitching and there’s no pain.
After 3 months, I am back in heels! I would definitely refer Dr. Deiboldt to my family.”

“Dr. David Deiboldt was amazing! I originally thought I just bruised my foot or toe really bad so I suffered through the pain for a few days. I was highly encouraged to go to a specialist to make sure everything was ok given the color my foot was turning and how much swelling it was accumulating.
After asking around I was referred to Dr. Deiboldt. I called and was given an appointment right away. X-rays were taken and we discovered I had shattered my toe socket pretty good and had loose pieces of bone floating around where there shouldn’t have been. Without the doctors expertise and urgency for my appointment I would have had to have major surgery to correct the issues.
Nicest doctor I have ever been too and didn’t try to nickel and dime me or take advantage of a bad situation. I highly recommend him for any foot issues anyone may have. Thank you Dr. Deiboldt for everything! .”

“I have never had foot problems ever! I am a chef so I am constantly on my feet; walking, running, and lifting 50lbs or more! One day my right foot started hurting; making my job more and more difficult.
Finally one moring I woke up and couldn’t walk! My foot was swollen and red! My boyfriend at the time told me about Dr. Deiboldt and his practice of great associates! Naturally I made an appointment right away!
After a thorough check-up and x-ray; I was concerned that something was really wrong. Dr. Deiboldt looked at all of the information and found that my peroneal tendon had torn and needed repair.
I was nervous; naturally, but Dr. Deiboldt walked me through everything and answered every question that I had. Surgery came and gone with multiple visit of PT, casts, crutches and walking boots!
Now in less than 6 months I am back doing what I do best! I am walking around with my new orthotics to prevent any further damage! All that remains is a small scar. Dr. Deiboldt consistently watched my progress and has helped me to a speedy recovery!
#1 advice – Follow what the Doc says! He has the MD not you! Ask questions and of course listen to your body.
Thanks for everything!”

“Before coming to the Beltsville Foot and Ankle Center I was in extreme pain and discomfort, suffering from plantar fasciitis.
During my treatment, my pain had gradually gone away with the help of injections.
I am now 100% relieved of all of the pain that I was suffering.
Thank You!”

“I had a bunion that was very painful and I could only wear certain shoes.
The shoes would rub the bunion and cause constant pain and discomfort.
Dr. Deiboldt spent time with me explaining the problem, took x-rays and discussed my options. I chose to have surgery.
Dr. Deiboldt explained exactly what he was going to do before the surgery. He had a great crew working with him and that helped to keep me calm.
After the surgery I have no more pain and the surgical site was very neat and clean. I have had no problems with my foot.
I was so impressed with Dr. Deiboldt that I brought my husband and several other family members and friends for treatment.
No one else will ever touch my toes and feet while he’s here!”

“I suffered a torn Achilles tendon on a Friday night at the gym.
I called Dr. Deiboldt’s office and got a return call early Saturday morning along with prescriptions for the pain.
Dr. Deiboldt was thorough with his explanation of my medical issue and laid out a good plan to correct it.
The surgery went well and I’m well on my way to a full recovery.”

“I walk my dog Bella about 1-3 miles a day.
My left little toe started to hurt and I couldn’t even wear a tennis shoe.
I decided to have surgery at the Beltsville Foot and Ankle Center and it was a piece of cake!
I did what the doctor told me to do – elevate and ice the area and wore my boot.
The toe is now straight and I can wear shoes again!
I can now start walking my Bella again! (that’s her on my cell phone in the picture).”

“I had tendinitis on my right foot from leaning on my right side when I had sciatica.
I wore an ankle brace for a few weeks and then I was put in a removable cast which I wore unless I was either lying down or taking a shower.
I went to physical therapy for a few weeks, had laser therapy for 3 weeks, then I continued physical therapy for 2 weeks.
The laser therapy treatment really helped me!
Now I’m completely healed and feeling much better.”

“I had a decent amount of pain and great discomfort running due to my Achilles Heel Spur!
I felt confident that my foot would be recovered 100% with the surgery that Dr. Deiboldt performed on my painful Achilles Heel Spur!
The process was informative and easy, very painless for the most part.
I felt satisfied with the recovery and results.”

“My expectations of rehab prior to actually attending where to regain complete use of my foot with minimal discomfort. My expectations were to also have a detailed teaching plan that would assist with my recovery at home.
During the rehabilitation process I was given adequate teaching which enabled me to feel comfortable returning to the Beltsville Foot & Ankle Center.
Post rehabilitation has been more than efficient and staff teaching and follow up was great.”

“When I first arrived to see Dr. Deiboldt on June 10th 2013, my foot/ankle were severely swollen from a basketball injury I suffered on June 6th. Although I have has a few minor ankle sprains over the years, I quickly knew this was more than your average ankle sprain. The staff took my x-ray and sent me for an MRI, where it was discovered that I had major ligament /tendon tearing, bordering on the need for surgery. While I knew the path to recovery would be long, I put my trust in the doctors/staff to guide me to a full recovery.
From ~mid June to early August, I came to the office to get laser treatment therapy, at 3 times per week. Gradually, I noticed the swelling decreasing and feeling coming back in my foot. I listened very closely to instruction from both Dr. Deibolt as well as their staff, by wearing the boot, using the crutches, wearing the ankle brace, and later, using the shoe inserts for better stability. Although there were days I had my doubts, feeling like I took a step backwards in recovery, the doctors and staff would bring me “two steps forward” the next day.
Although my foot/ankle are still a bit sore, the doctor’s counsel, laser treatment, and also physical therapy have brought me now to a place where I am back to my old self. I am very grateful for their care and professionalism, and for putting up with my millions of questions! Exercise and sports are a big part of my life. I truly believe their help/instruction have given me a great hope of a full return to this lifestyle. Thank you!”

“My journey with Dr. David Deiboldt started many years ago when he took over the practice form Dr. Freid. I was one of his patients. I was a very young woman then with a log of energy, running every day to stay in shape. As a result I developed painful neuromas. My left foot neuroma was worse. In those days surgery was the treatment for neuromas.
Surgery was done on my left foot with a 100% success. The only problems were the pain of the surgery and a six-week healing time. The right foot neuroma was not as bad so we tried a new method of shots. It helped some, but I was not ready for another surgery.
Fast forward about 10 years. The pain became so intense that I stopped running and just lived with the pain. Then my left heel started to hurt (Plantar Fasciitis). Here I was with two bad feet. I was having other health issues and a podiatrist happened to be in a nearby office. Out of desperation and convenience I made an appointment at that office, knowing in th back of my mind it was probably not the right decision. After the first examination, I was sent on my way with no diagnosis or treatments.
I then returned to Dr. D (that is what I call him) in August 2013. My first visit back to his office was like coming home. He listened patiently as I whined to him with my issues. In his soft voice and smiling face he explained to me his plan of treatment for both feet. My biggest fear was surgery and I was so happy when he told me surgery was done as a last resort.
Doctors now use ultrasound to pin point the neuroma on the underside of the foot. Then from the top of the foot an injection is given to hopefully shrink the neuroma. The left foot had Plantar Fasciitis. I was given a boot to wear and exercises to do daily. Treatments to be pain-free began.
I returned every two weeks to the office for treatment. The Plantar Fasciitis went away very quickly. After doing the exercises, wearing the boot and a few cortisone shots later, I was pain free. The neuroma was not so easy. I continued to come faithfully every two weeks for injections. I felt pain for the first few days after every shot, but the pain slowly subsided. It took 9 months of treatment to be just about pain free. Another success with no surgery. I hope soon to be able to get back to running again.
Dr. D’s office has a very happy atmosphere and everyone is professional. I would like to thank the entire office for their patience and kindness to make me pain free. You Rock!!!”
